Does OpenVPM do two-way texting?
The workflow exists, but hosted SMS is limited to approved one-location pilots after carrier registration, consent review, clinic approval, and administrator activation.
Can I send automated reminders and recalls?
Reviewed appointment reminders and vaccination recalls can use configured email or activated SMS. General-purpose bulk announcement campaigns are not available.
Is every message saved to the client record?
OpenVPM keeps tracked communications and provider outcomes linked to the client. Clinics should validate the exact channels used during pilot setup.
Can I bring my own SMS provider?
Self-hosters configure their own provider and remain responsible for registration, consent, delivery, and compliance. A Cloud SMS allowance applies only after texting is approved and activated.
