Provet Cloud, from Nordhealth, is a cloud PIMS strong with multi-site and referral hospitals, especially in Europe. It stands out among closed systems for a documented REST API with webhooks. OpenVPM makes its code and schema public and has no self-hosted software license fee, but its API, integration ecosystem, and current practice scope are much narrower.

Provet markets data ownership through its API, which is genuinely good. OpenVPM is open source, so you own the application and the schema too, not just API access to a platform someone else controls.
What does Provet Cloud cost?
Provet does not publish transparent pricing. It is quote-based. Per-vet figures on aggregator sites are unverified. OpenVPM has no self-hosted software license fee and is priced per location for Cloud.
Does OpenVPM have webhooks like Provet?
Yes. OpenVPM supports signed webhooks for selected events and a targeted REST API. Provet has a more mature integration ecosystem today; OpenVPM's differentiator is that the application and schema are also open source.
